Clickity clackity base change ASMR! Some my the best sounds in the studio! 😌
This is what we call locking up the chase. Usually, printers would lock up individual lead type pieces, but thanks to some modern additions like our @boxcar.press base, we are able to supplement the height of those type pieces (type high) to use thinner materials like photopolymer, which can be printed from a digital file. Pretty much all of our designs are printed this way!
We have two bases, one small and one large. We could just use the large one, but lifting it in and out of the press gets tiring (I’m just a girl)! So we change it out whenever possible. Swapping out all the furniture to fit the form just so can sometimes be a bit of a puzzle. But like... a very soothing puzzle. 🙂↕️🙂↕️

I really like the adjustable wedge uh, things! (Quoins?) I know zip about printing, but they would be really handy in some woodworking projects. Off to look at eBay ;-)
Love this part of setting up. It’s like Tetris 😂
I could watch this all day
Very satisfying clicks!
We need a heart-ears emoji.
Need to 3d print me some quoins!
What is the contraption called you see in this video?
Some of the most simplest and absolute genius things were made 100+ years ago. So simple and effective it’s mind blowing
I ran a letterpress for 20 years and it’s a fantastic art. Absolutely loved it. The multiple uses of not only printing but also scoring and kiss cutting.
My dad owned a small local paper , early 70’s. Lineotype, the frames, sheets of newspaper. The sounds of the press was my lullaby.
Love it!
That loop! 👏
I miss letterpress!! Such a wonderful art form!!!
We yearn for the quoins.
I don't know as much about letterpress as I'd like, but are bigger pieces of "furniture" a thing ?
