Before, I used a chisel and a hammer to trim the wooden plugs on railings. Quite often the plug would chip more than needed, and I had to drill it out and install a new one. On large projects, where there are dozens of these plugs, it took a huge amount of time and effort.
That’s why I came up with a special attachment for my router. It allows me to trim plugs quickly and cleanly, even on profiled railings, following their shape. The attachment is the same thickness as the router bit, so the railing stays untouched while the plug is trimmed perfectly flush.
The result is less manual work, more precision, and massive time savings.

That’s a pretty complicated chisel !!
Very clever. Best new tool I’ve seen in a while👍
😂
I want the router attachment ??
Question as im old, why put a fixing in such an awkward place?? I was taught to go underneath and never on the top of handrails. Grain issues and plug colours, especially when staining. Basically I dont won't any more blady carpentry tools after 25 years, the amount ive got, I could of bought a 4 bedroom house in cash.
I looked and was wondering when this is available.
I have hundreds of dowels to cut flush (wood panelling project) and genuinely didn’t even think to use a router as assumes I’d be using Japanese pull saw. I have three routers including one table router, sometimes the answer is staring you in the face… this will be much quicker and just with a normal router base… gah
Smart
