Ever heard of the Pacific's lost city? 🏛️🌊
Nan Madol in Micronesia is one of the world's most mysterious archaeological sites - and almost nobody knows it exists. This ancient city sits on 92 man-made islands, constructed from massive basalt columns that somehow were moved without wheels, metal tools, or cranes.
The locals have legends about it being built by twin sorcerers using magic to fly the stones into place. Scientists? Still puzzled. 🤯
Getting here requires a boat ride through mangrove channels, and you'll likely have these ruins entirely to yourself. It's been called the "Machu Picchu of the Pacific" - except way fewer tourists.
Would you visit? 👇

I get so annoyed seeing these videos when they say “they don’t know how it was built”. Yes we know, we know where they got the stones, we know they rafted the stones around to that spot. People just can’t fathom not wasting hours a day on the internet or Netflix. You would be surprised what you can do with thousands of people who have nothing else to do than eat, sleep and build.
Nan Madol is far Greater and more beautiful then you could imagine especially in its glory period. Locals do not call it the Venice of South Pacific, as most will have never seen or visited Venice, white peoples said that as they are always comparing things to the west. The place is stunning and very mysterious! Life changing!
Nan Madol, in Pohnpei, Micronesia. I live near there.
There’s lots of archeological papers out there explaining how it was built.
Built b4 the flood ------------->
Locals do not call it the Venice of the Pacific - when we went, some guy wearing nothing but a small towel collected $2 from us to visit the site and said no words to us whatsoever!
Not only have I heard of it, I lived there, on Pohnpei. ❤️
It was probably not in water when made. The big cataclysmic flood destroyed ancient cultures and most monuments..and humanity forgot its history, as it literally was erased.. so these old remains are older than we think..
This place is crazy. I learned about it earlier this year and to think islanders built these two thousand years ago is insane. It unfortunately about the most expensive place for people from the USA to get to though😭
Let few places stay unexplored lols...People have already destroyed half of the world so for heaven sake shut up and let the places be
Obviously, aliens helped with the build. 🙄 A raft can’t transport a 100,000 pound stone.
Pretty cool but how big is it?
How come nobody is talking about the platinum casket found there in the water by Nan Madol? ???? Japanese divers found in around 1946
Is there any good surf there?
I'm sure there are snakes everywhere😂
