Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” was produced by the Bee Gees, Albhy Galuten, and Karl Richardson, built around a tight disco groove with a pulsing bassline and crisp drum pattern. The production uses layered vocals and rhythmic guitar to create a driving, danceable energy. Its infectious rhythm and iconic sound helped make it one of the defining songs of the disco era.

Disco is given no credit for revolutionizing recorded sound. There are more recording masterpieces in Disco than in any other genre.
Actually not a loop! I had the pleasure of opening the original stems for this song. They do a “Nashville count in”, where the drummer plays for a few bars to get into the groove before the whole song jumps in. Live off the floor!
This is just a reminder as to why today's music sucks so bad.
It’s a loop of their drummer Dennis Bryon playing on Night Fever. When they were recording Staying Alive, Bryon’s mother was taken ill and he had to go see her, so they used the loop that he had already played for Night Fever. They credited it to ‘Bernard Loupe’ who then became one of the most in-demand drummers even though he didn’t exist. Great production.
Again .. NO CREDIT to @creatingmusicandsound who is the original creator of the post!
Brilliance. Always Brilliance. The Bee Gees. Thank You.🙏🏽 ❤️
It's hard to believe they were Australian, yet they made such an impact in the United States.
I think strings are a truly underated addition to late 70s and 80s music. ELO obviously were brilliant at this and it just makes the music stand the test of time because it's interesting and rich to listen to
And then you add Travolta strutting down the sidewalk!!!❤️🔥
Isn’t this the song where the drummers mom was ill and he had to leave and they had to keep going with this song so they pulled the drum line from another song as a placeholder and ended up keeping it because it sounded so good?
Music will never be the same shout out to The Bee Gees especially Barry GENIUS there will never be another 🎶
Barry is an absolute genius. Who had a better year than he did in 78?
The strings were also used in title song for “GREASE”! Also written by Barry Gibb.
Not sure if you’ve done “the hustle”, but that would be a good disco song to break down. It’s got the great Steve Gadd on drums. Another tune that got labeled as corny due to the disco backlash, but it’s got incredible players on it and a very funky groove.
