It was so charming before - they never should have modernized it.
I forgot about the painters and the hot air baloons. Why did they remove those? I still shop there. Trying to keep the mall alive
It was supposed to be one of the largest malls in America. That’s why the parking lot is so big. They had to stop construction, though, and minimize it, because there is an endangered species of spiders, called the “tooth cave spider”, living in the caves beneath the mall.
In 7th grade we walked from Cedar Park Middle School to the first day it opened. Had to call my Mom and tell her I was at the mall. Got grounded! Miss the Hot Air Balloon in the middle of the mall! 😂

I was there!! I was also there the night before. Lakeline Mall brought Faith Hill out to perform a concert in the Foley’s parking lot for $75 a ticket. That included shopping the night before the grand opening and free food from all the restaurants in the food court.
I was one of those tap dancing shopping bags!
And then they tore down all the character for some meaningless gray abstract ceiling rectangles

Old Lakeline mall was amazing! I miss the cafeteria with all of the decorations on the ceiling, and the elevator that had all of the animals.
I remember that day so well. My friend Kathy and I went but I think it was at night since Faith Hill was singing outside. Who would have thought she would become such a big star. So I can add her and Taylor who we saw at the NFR in Vegas as a supporting act. Just a teenager. Lakeline was a big deal.
