Probably not too many people other than hardcore fans did understand the reference

“After all, There is no point in living, if you can’t feel the life? Isn’t that right, Elektra? Isn’t that your motto?

'Orbis Non Sufficit' comes from Juvenal's Satire 10 (c. AD 120), about Alexander the Great. King Philip II of Spain made it his imperial motto. John Bond encountered the motto while acting as a secret agent against the Spanish during Sir Francis Drake's 1585–86 expedition and adopted it for the Bond family.

30 seconds of googling show Sir Thomas Bond, Baronet of Peckham was indeed a real person, with the motto “The World Is Not Enough”, though he died in 1685 not 1734 as stated in OHMSS. Somewhat esoteric figure in Restoration era history, impressive Fleming went to the trouble to look him up and create a link to his fictional character of the same name (by coincidence - not likely what he had in mind when he borrowed the name from author of Birds of the West Indies) in the pre-internet days where that likely took some serious legwork to dig up

I love George Lazenby as James Bond and I love OHMSS as well it is my favorite James Bond film followed closely by The Living Daylights and Licence TO Kill these are the James Bond films I watch the most and I love Timothy Dalton as James Bond because he portrays James Bond as Ian Fleming portrayed James Bond in the original novels IMHO

I really hope that if we get a new bond, it is a period piece or they just jump back into the “it’s all canon with different actors“ approach pre-Daniel Craig. That or give me an old man bond with Pierce Brosnan so he can get a sendoff with a good movie.

Some say he first discovered Peckham Spring

George Lazenby, Pierce Brosnan. I never connected the two. I love it when stuff comes together. 🔥

I loved it when it felt like they were all connected, one rough timeline, Connery to Brosnan.
