I doubt he was using windows. The FBI probs used a fake reason to hide their capabilities.

So how was a GDID transmitted in a network packet that was in any way detectable - something doesn’t add up. I’m aware of the GDID but I’ve never seen it specifically in any packet trace. I could understand the MAC address but what traffic is tagged with a GDID ?

he would've gotten away with it too, if it was for them meddling kids 😂 oops wrong show

Time to finalize the divorce from Microsoft and Apple.
Privacy and ownership-after-purchase matter.

Why would any intelligent person use a burner on their home network or leave a trail back? 😂

GDID doesn't get broadcast though. Computers have all sorts of unique identifiers - MAC addresses on network interfaces, serial numbers retrievable from the motherboard, etc. None of this is broadcast though. The GDID thing is probably from the feds grabbing his system logs after the fact to show that the logs on his machine are from his device. However, since the GDID isn't broadcast, it's not how they found him. Please stop spreading misinformation.

This is why I hate windows. It’s not your computer it’s theirs. I use Arch Linux for this reason. Fingerprinting is the reason why VPNS is a scam

That's why you use a burner laptop on public wifi with no VPN - wear plain clothing and use a covid mask or CCTV blind spot to add an extra layer

This story is also evidence that they purposely leak information like your GDID to 3rd parties like Snapchat so that they can build these profiles that track us across networks.
