You should add Goodwood Festival of Speed to your bucket list. It’s the greatest car show in the world, and I’ve been to most of them.
Here’s how to do it:
Fly into Gatwick. It’s the closest airport, about 50 minutes away by car. Heathrow works too if the fares are better.
Stay in Chichester. It’s the natural base. Walkable, plenty of restaurants/pubs. Book EARLY. Things fill up fast.
Goodwood FoS is 4 days. I recommend just two: Friday and Saturday. Friday is a little less crowded explore the paddocks. Saturday, take in the main events.
Get your tickets early. Sign up now for future alerts. Tickets are cheapest at initial onsale, and go up in price the longer you wait.
Ultimate bucket list itinerary: combine with British GP, which takes place the week before every July. Midweek, drive to Hethel and take a tour of the LOTUS factory. Sign up for a day of the Lotus Driving Academy and hone your track skills in a Lotus Emira at the factory test track.

It’s been my dream to attend for almost 30 years, when I first learned about Goodwood FoS from watching Speedvision with my granddad.
I have been to Goodwood revival! Loved it, i saw Mr. bean’s engine blow up… i shouted “BEANS ON TOAST” at Rowan Atkinson
The parking lot was always the best park. Went 20 years ago with my 68 911S and spent most the day walking around the fields drooling.
Coachella for cars is an absolutely horrible comparison.. other than that, great video😂
So do you walk around the parking lot looking at all the cool cars or the actual festival?? 😂😂😂🙌
Goodwood Members meeting is also awesome. Pit lane entry for everyone too.
Living in the UK I have been to FOS 3 times and about to go on my 4th time this weekend. There is so much in one day!
Was last year there great event but lots of people 2 days are enough for the FOS the revival is even better and grrc Meetings are propably the best
ALWAYS check the carpark - thems the rules!!! 🙌
The only day ticket I was able to buy for 2023 was the one day that it was closed for high winds😭😭. I hope one day I can return.
You need to go to some better shows, been a few of times and its now become 80-90% manufacturer dullness (and so many EVs). I much prefer somewhere with unique cars built in sheds by passionate, crazy, eccentrics. In the UK best for me are Retro Rides, Players or even a simple hillclimb weekend at Shelsley Walsh, Prescott etc.
I've been to Power Big Meet in Sweden every year forever. The biggest in the world.
If I wasn’t editing this week I’d be there after seeing this video. You sold me on it.
Goodwood has just one downside. It’s always on the second weekend of July, at the same time as the North Sea jazzfestival. Other than that it’s awesome!
What's the price to drive on the track?
