Love this concept! My $0.02 on a metric version - if you print a 0.0-1.0mm scale on the body taper then you can just manufacture a metric blade that snaps into the universal body. Also if you print a few more lines on the upper body taper you can turn that into a vernier scale and be achieving machinist-level precision! Can't wait to see how this develops!!

@duttontools would it be possible to have the body made thicker for us metal workers that need a taller body profiles for some of the larger radiuses edges we have to deal with?
Love the features of this! We work in metric mostly. 150,200,300mm rules, snapping to 1mm with the dovetail slide to 0.1mm. Anodized a second color. I’d have both in my shop. These are awesome.
Practical! Any chance you could emulate the matte blade finish that Starrett (previously!) offered on their rules, etc.?
Anyone who complains about the price has never bought a snap-on tool in their life. This is an incredible invention and worth every cent.
You happen to make like a 6-7 inch? I do cabinetry and find I often need more than a 5 inch but don't quite need a 12 and would like something that I can still carry easily in my install pouch

I immediately said I'm buying one and then thought the same thing as others about the price tag. Unfortunately, American made doesn't necessarily mean quality or even justify the price unless that's the driving factor for my purchases. Unfortunately most people who owns tools don't own all American made so it further makes it hard to be the motivating factor for purchase. I will buy this when the price come down. I'd say if it was around the 100 mark I'd probably make the jump fwiw
Nice design. You could probably omit the flip out support. I have one on my little woodpecker combo and I never have once found it useful.
It would be more useful with a 4”, 8” & 12” blade.
For smaller pieces, sometimes 6” is too long.
3”, 6” & 9” would be even better.
I have some other double & combo squares; I think I’ve used my 12” blade twice in 20 years.
I would absolutely love one, but I can't justify spending that much on a combo square. I understand that manufacturing is expensive, especially so with any sort of quality, just hoping you find a way to get the price down
