Exploring wooden hinges that utilize bentwood rings as guiding elements.

After making Robs @robcosman_handtoolwoodworking wood hinge boxes I asked, if bentwood rings could be part of the hinge mechanism of a box with a lid. That's a first take at that idea with crap pieces and rings.

Still some issues with squeaking but once glued and waxed, that could act as a metal free, really strong wooden hing on some things that have a lid or door.
